Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 1 September 2025

The Brighton Absurd Film Festival (BAFF) is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

What Web Accessibility Is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved through both the system’s built-in capabilities and assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition software, or keyboard navigation.

Accessibility Adjustments on This Site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and our goal is compliance at the AA level. As part of this effort, we have:

  • Set the language of the site.

  • Defined a clear content order and heading structure for all pages.

  • Added alternative text to images.

  • Implemented high-contrast color combinations.

  • Reduced the use of motion where possible.

  • Ensured that videos, audio, and files provided are accessible.

  • Tested the site with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.

Declaration of Partial Compliance

Some third-party content (e.g., embedded videos, ticketing platforms such as FilmFreeway or Eventbrite) may not fully meet accessibility standards. We therefore declare partial compliance for those elements.

Accessibility in the Organization

As an online festival, BAFF currently operates without a physical venue. Should physical screenings or events be held in the future, we will provide details of venue accessibility on this page.

Requests, Issues, and Suggestions

We are always working to improve the accessibility of our site. If you encounter any accessibility issues or need further assistance, please contact our accessibility coordinator.
